At the helm of Bocado’s kitchen stands Chef Víctor Hugo Soares Santos who hails all the way from Spain. Now in Malaysia, Chef Victor is ready to embrace the challenge of infusing Spanish flavours into the vibrant tapestry of Malaysia’s dining scene.
It all started at the age of 12 when he noticed that people are always happy in every restaurant he’s been to, where everyone is always enjoying their time with their partner or family. Inspired, that’s when he started making his favourite dishes at home, which soon led him on a path to pursuing a career in cooking.
Having worked in various regions in Spain as well as luxury hotels in Switzerland, he has honed his knowledge in Spanish cuisine and is no stranger to adapting to any country’s taste profiles, a skill he finds particularly rewarding in Malaysia. In comparing his global job experiences, Chef Víctor highlights the exceptional hospitality and multicultural nature of Malaysia. He is especially struck by the exceptional hospitality and multicultural essence of the country.
